Escriba is the official literary journal of the Literature Department of the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P). Every work we publish upholds the moral, ethical, philosophical, and aesthetic standards espoused by the University and reflects our commitment to promoting and respecting the Asia Pacific-Catholic identity of our institution.
Our mission is threefold:
(1) Showcase the vitality of literature beyond the classroom, highlighting how language and storytelling engage with contemporary social, political, and ethical issues.
(2) Empower our writers to recognize their role in shaping language and carving their own space in the rich and diverse literary landscape.
(3) Foster a community of homegrown talent, building camaraderie among writers so that a vibrant and supportive artistic culture can flourish on campus.
Through Escriba, we affirm that literature is not only an academic pursuit but also a living dialogue with the world, rooted in values, enriched by identity, and sustained by community.
